The Family Room nurtures healthy and strong communities by providing research-based, wrap-around services and programing to help families with young children thrive. As a registered parent-child center, The Family Room provides education, support, and connection for parents. They promote physical, emotional, and linguistic development through free programming that is accessible to all.
The Family Room had been nestled under the Maternal and Child Health Department within the Visiting Nurses Association in Vermont for almost 30 years.
On July 1st of 2017, after almost 2 years of organizing by parents, staff, and community members, The Family Room became an independent nonprofit organization. We are home to a 5 star preschool, and are a registered stand-alone Parent-Child Center. Some pretty outstanding people, both staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure The Family Room lives on strong!
Come, make new friends, eat amazing nutrient dense ethnic foods, learn about many of the cultures in our community and weave the essential network of community that it takes to thrive today.
This month, we aim to raise $20,000 for The Family Room from friends, family, and community members. The money raised will enable The Family Room to provide a solid foundation for this new chapter, which will allow us to grow critical services for families and develop a sustainable business model for moving forward.
Because of our generous matching donors, if you make a gift before July 31, your gift will be DOUBLED in value! Two families who are deeply committed to this work have pledged to match every dollar raised, 1:1 up to $10,000. Every dollar counts no matter the size of the donation.
